I've been in what you would call an art funk—that regularly cycling feeling that I am worthless as an artist and not very good at what it is that I do. This generally correlates with getting near the end of a sketchbook, when pages are filled with frustrated, stiff, stale doodles—many of them left unfinished—instead of full drawings. But, a-ha, this is often cured by beginning a new sketchbook, with all that empty white paper saying, "Hey, you don't have to suck! No one who sees this book will never know that you suck if you don't let them!"
...So this is how I kicked off a new book. It's not a perfect drawing by any stretch of the imagination, but it's good enough for a sketchbook title page.
